Beauty should not hurt:
Hence the idea 'Be kind always' was born out of love from me to you.
Making Ethical Choices to 'Be Kinder'
No Palm Oil.
I have carfully researched every ingredient that goes into my soap. I have made the decision that no palm oil will be used in my recipies. Palm oil is a cheap product and an ingredient in almost everything we buy from food to cosmetics. I will not go into the debate of why, but let you research and come to your own conclusion.
I have also decided to make the majority of my soaps Vegan, some handmade soaps use lard, tallow, beeswax, propolis and honey etc to make a really good bar of soap, I have chosen to go majority vegan as I do use honey in one of my soap recipies.
Plastic sticks around in the environment for ages, threatening wildlife and spreading toxins. Plastic also contributes to global warming (almost all plastics are made from chemicals that come from the production of planet-warming fuels like gas, oil and even coal).
More and more people are cutting down on the amount of plastic they use.
Reducing plastics that can end up in our seas – harming our sealife and other wildlife too.
And they'll enhance your life by saving you cash and avoiding aggressive chemicals.
No Artificial Ingredients.
My promise to you is that I will only use ethically sourced, natural ingredients, no artificial colours, fragrances or preservatives are included in my soap. I only use natural ingredients which give my soap its colour, skin boosting benefits and essential oils for scent, which also has some aromatherapy benefits! That advert... not perfumed, not coloured, just kind rings in my ears. However my soaps do have colour and scent which is naturally derived.
Be kind to your skin, cleanse and feed it naturally do not strip it.
In 2020 I had a thriving beauty/lash business, so much so my books were closed and I did not need to advertise looking for new clients. I had won national and international beauty awards, travelled nationally, internationally and spoken at conferences about my passion for fantasy lash art.
Then Covid 19 hit and the UK went into a national lockdown. In March of 2020 my beauty business was forcably closed for 8 months of that year.
This has forced me to make new choices, I realised even after going back to work my business had taken a huge hit. I had instantly lost 50% of my clients due to a variety of reasons.
I am naturally a creative person, because we were now washing our hands with what felt like every 30 minutes, our hands were starting to suffer, the high alcohol content in sanitisers were taking an effect on our skin. Since it has been proven that ordinary soap interferes with the structure molecule of the covid virus, I decided to do myself, my friends and family a favour and produce a luxurious bar of soap, that did not use plastic packaging, that used the best ingredients, that would keep us safe and heal our tortured skin.
After trying out lots of different soap recipies, I selected a base recipe that I favoured. However for me to share my creations with you, legally within the UK I need to ensure my soaps have been cosmetically assessed. Initially this is a very costly and labour intensive process. I have to ensure accurately measured ingredient amounts, that everything is labelled with the correct information set and passed by the Cosmetic Product Safety Reports, before I can retail my soap.
If you are purchasing any handmade soap online or in person at local faryes etc, please check with the retailer that they have the correct cosmetic assessment passed before you purchase. This is a product that you put on your skin, just because it is natural it can still be toxic in incorrect or excessive quantities.
