Naturawhite FAQ
What is cosmetic teeth whitening?
-
Cosmetic Teeth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface (enamel). It will lighten the existing shade of your teeth by up to 8 shades.
Who cannot have cosmetic teeth whitening?
-
Anyone who is currently suffering from gum disease. It is essential that if you have any signs of gum disease you should be seen by your dentist before attending any teeth whitening appointments. We also do not recommend that pregnant women do not have their teeth whitened.
How long does an appointment take?
-
Appointments only take between forty five minutes and one hour, this is usually carried out over three twenty minute sessions. If our Extreme Whitening Diamond Laser is in use then you can expect three fifteen minute sessions.
I want a natural looking smile, is cosmetic teeth whitening for me?
-
The finished shade of your teeth cannot be predicted, however throughout the appointment the shade change of your teeth can be monitored and once the desired shade has been achieved the process may be stopped. We find that the best and longest lasting results will always be with the full sixty minutes under the light.
I have crowns, caps, fillings, veneers... can I have a cosmetic teeth whitening appointment?
-
Yes you can! The teeth whitening procedure will restore crowns, caps, fillings or veneers to their original colour and will not cause any damage. Please note that the process will not whiten them more than their original colour.
How long will the results last?
-
For most people, we find that the results are long-lasting. It’s important to remember that exposure to heavily staining food and drinks such as coffee, red wine and curry as well as tobacco will darken teeth.
Your teeth should stay noticeably whiter for a considerable amount of time after having a laser teeth whitening appointment. We also offer an excellent aftercare range to help you keep your perfect white smile!
Is teeth whitening painful?
-
This is the question that concerns most people. The majority of people find the process completely painless, however, a small percentage of people experience temporary sensitivity to hot or cold for 24 – 48 hours following their appointment.
