COVID-19 INFECTION CONTROL

Risk Assessment for iLashtique 15/08/2020

updated 24/09/2020

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been shut, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by Beauty Industry Approval.

I have since made a number of changes in the way that I will operate that you will notice when you next visit.

COVID 19 Booking Appointments

If I feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately and will not be working. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again, I will inform you as soon as I am well to re-book your appointment. If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. I have amended my booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss which are Covid 19 related.

  • Visiting the Salon For your safety and to maintain social distancing, please do not turn up early for your appointment, as this may mean that you come into contact with another client who are just leaving, or when I am having a break and therefor not ready to see you. Can you please come to your appointment alone. I will politely ask for you to wait in your car and text you are outside. I will reply to confirm my last client has left the area has been cleaned and sanitary and I am ready for you.

  • I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that: common surfaces, toilets, door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client. There will now be a plastic, wipe-able covering on the beauty couch, which will be cleaned with suitable disinfectant after each client.

  • All tools and equipment will be cleaned, disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturer's instructions for your safety. Wherever possible I will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

  • You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands as soon as you enter the building in the kitchenette area or bathroom area and I will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the studio. Please use at least one of these when you arrive.

  • It is now mandatory to wear a face-mask inside my beauty room and during your treatment. Please don’t be surprised I also have to use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This will include face visor / disposable gloves / face-masks / disposable aprons and I will be wearing them when you arrive.

  • I can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority and I can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area every day. Due to this I am unable to offer the blanket cover I used to use during your treatment. As it gets colder you are welcome to bring your blanket to use during your treatment.

  • I now have a portable sink in my studio. During your treatment I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure that I wash my hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment as well as continuing to use hand sanitiser before and after your treatment. I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to address these issues with you.

  • After the treatment I will still accept cash, I would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card. All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine.

  • I have downloaded my unique QR code which is now on display on my door and in my studio. To help track the infection you can scan my unique code with the 'NHS COVID 19 APP' available on your smartphone. I also have your details on file for the track & trace system

  • I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding.
